Tristan Le Govic Trio / François Pernel

April 3@3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

£5.00 - £11.00

Dañs – Tristan Le Govic Trio

Dañs (“Dance” in Breton language) is the new project led by the Breton harpist Tristan Le Govic which mixes traditional pieces in modern and historical styles. The heart of the project is dance music: a Breton An dro flirts with Rock music; a Swedish Polska sounds like a Baroque Passacaglia while traditional songs are rearranged in a lively jazz swing style and newly composed tunes get a deep feeling of old traditional airs. He will be joined by Tangi Le Hénanff (double bass) and Alan Quéré-Moysan (drums).

François Pernel

François Pernel is creating new repertoire and pushing the boundaries of the lever harp through his own compositions and by re-interpreting the music of those who have taken part in the development of this versatile instrument before him. The concert will feature his own music and some surprises.

This year’s festival marks the 10th anniversary of the death of one of the most creative spirits of the Celtic harp, Kristen Nogues. Although born in Versailles, Paris, she adopted Brittany as her home and produced a body of work that has influenced her own and the next generation of harpers. Some of them will join Tristan and François to celebrate Kristen and her music at the end of the concert.
