APPROACH TO IRISH TRADITIONAL
Elementary – E+M

TrionaMarshall1

TUTOR : TRIONA MARSHALL
This class is intended for beginners who have an interest in looking at traditional Irish music on the harp. Along with learning a number of traditional tunes by ear; with the music given as a guide to those who wish it, we will look at ornamental possibilities and some basic ideas for accompaniments. Technique is a big subject for those starting the harp so time will be spent explaining how to execute ornaments and phrasing in the best way through understanding the techniques behind it.

STARTING TO SESSION
Elementary – E+M

CorrinaHewat2

TUTOR : CORRINA HEWAT
This class is for those who are able to play the harp on their own, slowly and confidently, and would like to bridge the gap into playing with others. Come and learn some basic chords and accompaniment ideas, with rhythms and patterns, which you can add into a session - all taught at a slow, comfortable speed. We will learn how to recognise different types of tunes and time signatures by ear, plus rhythms and patterns to get you through the basic way of 'playing along' with others in different keys. The class will be predominantly taught by ear, although notes will be available to take away each day.
